Number the Stars

I give Number the Stars, by Lowis Lowery a five star rating. It was a great story. Not only was it entertaining, but it also taught kids a big piece of history. And it’s good that people read this, especially kids, because if we aren’t careful, The Holocaust could happen… again. It told about eleven-year-old Annemarie and her Jewish friend, Ellen. And the adventures they go on, to save Ellen, and her family, and the Jews of the world.

  1. You make a good point about being careful not to let another Holocaust happen. I have read other books by Lois Lowry and they are fantastic. I'll have to read this one now! Nice review :o)

  2. Thank you. I haven't read Lois Lowry's other books, but I want to. I like how she is telling a story she made up, but it tells about a real event in history. I think Lois does a good job. If someone hasn't read Number the Stars, they should.

  3. Great review! I read this one a couple of weeks ago when my daughter put it to the side. I really liked it, too. Would it be okay for me to link to your review at War Through the Generations? This is a great book for the WWII reading challenge we're hosting.

  10. I liked this one, too - and also Lowry's Anastasia Krupnik series. Have you read any of those? I think the first one is just called Anastasia Krupnik. They are funny and remind me a bit of Judy Moody, but for an older audience.
